My role
End-to-end Product Designer. Responsible for product definition, contextual research, UX/UI design, design system creation, and defining complete flows leading to a functional product suitable for real filming environments.
The problem
The creation of fictional interfaces for film and television is often handled in an ad-hoc manner, without reusable systems or standardized processes.
This results in duplicated work, last-minute errors, and reliance on improvised solutions that negatively impact both narrative quality and production efficiency.
The lack of centralized control also makes it difficult to maintain visual consistency and properly manage digital devices during filming.

Environments
(Desktop · On-set devices)
"The product needed to behave as a reliable on-set working tool, not as a one-off visual solution."
Approach and process
The process started with an analysis of real usage contexts: on-set workflows, involved roles, and technical constraints specific to audiovisual production.
From there, the design focused on defining a clear and controlled experience, where configuration happens upfront and on-set execution is simple, reliable, and error-free.
UX decisions aimed to reduce complexity, limit unnecessary interactions, and ensure predictable behavior during filming.
Design system
The design system is the core of the product. Components, variants, and usage rules were defined to enable the creation and reuse of fictional interfaces while maintaining visual consistency, creative control, and speed.
The system is designed to scale across different styles, genres, and narrative contexts without compromising usability or coherence.
Product vision and feasibility
The product was designed with technical feasibility and long-term evolution in mind. System and UX decisions were made with a clear focus on scalability, maintainability, and future product extensions.
Recognition and project status
UiFilm was selected by Google for Startups as a high-potential startup and chosen by Andalucía Open Future for its 2024 residency program.
The project is currently on hold and seeking new funding. Despite this, the work defines a solid product, validated at a conceptual and system level, and ready to be resumed in future stages.
Current status
UiFilm is currently in an advanced development phase. The product establishes a solid foundation to turn a historically manual process into a professional, reusable system within the film industry.
